GentleYag Laser

GentleYag laser gently and effectively treats all skin types — even tanned skin — with 1064 Nd:Yag. Long pulses penetrate to greater depths and are less absorbed by melanin. This increases the light that reaches its targets.

Other Uses

The laser also fights fine lines and wrinkles, pseudofolliculitis barbae (PFB), facial hair stubble (bumps), and sagging skin. It’s little wonder that GentleYag is known as a non-surgical facelift.

It is also effective for laser hair removal, leg vein removal, facial vein removal, and skin rejuvenation. It is non-ablative, safe, and (of course) gentle, allowing for faster treatments and increased comfort.

This laser is an important part of a carbon peel (laser peel), also referred to as a Spectra peel.

Applications

  • Hair removal for all skin types
  • Leg vein (varicose vein) removal
  • Skin tightening
  • Treating vascular lesions
  • Treating rosacea and flushing
  • Reducing scars
  • Reducing pore size

FAQ

Q: How do GentleYag Laser Treatments work?

A: The GentleYag laser creates a beam of high-intensity light, penetrating deep into the dermis. This deep-heats the issues and tightens skin, for a non-surgical facelift. The laser beam is preceded by a burst of cooling cryogen spray, protecting your skin and making the procedure more comfortable.

Q: How many GentleYag treatments will I need?

A: Treatment regimens usually consist of 3 to 4 sessions per month. Each GentleYag session takes 20 to 30 minutes. The number will be determined after a close evaluation of your skin. Visit Reviva for a free consultation.

Q: Do GentleYag treatments hurt?

A: This treatment is comfortable as topical anesthesia will be applied. You might feel some snapping sensations and/or heat.

Q: What should I expect after the treatment? What are the side effects?

A: Your skin might be slightly swollen and pink for a few hours post-treatment, but makeup can be applied immediately. There is usually no downtime required. As with any laser treatment, please avoid exposure to sunlight before and after treatment. Side effects are uncommon but may include dark or light spots, which usually disappear on their own.

Q: Can GentleYag treatments be used in combination with other procedures?

A: Yes! Combo treatments with Q-switched lasers can be used to treat brown spots on the face. Intense pulsed light (IPL) treats redness. Microdermabrasion and Erbium laser peels are also often used in conjunction with GentleYag. Acne scars can be further reduced with our Aramis laser or dermal fillers.

At Reviva, we have obtained exceptional results by combining GentleYag with radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening for jowls and under-chin areas. Botox also holds its ground in the realm of facial rejuvenation.
